A study that was conducted recently shows that Singaporeans do not exercise enough. More than half of those surveyed said that they went to the park while ten percent even said that they have been to a gym. Though it is possible for one to exercise , 75% said that they preferred to do so in their homes, where they could exercise . Altogether, 500 people were polled via an internet survey and most of them admitted to having thoughts of exercising but said that they lacked the discipline to do so. In a separate study, scientists say that there will be one-third less sufferers of diabetes if each Singaporean were to exercise for an hour day. They add that a diet is also needed for a person to prevent sicknesses like diabetes. However, due to the lifestyle of most , many do not have the time to watch their health. The government is looking into this situation and hopes to be able to encourage more to adopt healthier lifestyles.
